Sandy Springs Mom, 8-Month-Old Baby Found Safe

The woman, who allegedly made suicidal threats, fled the apartment unit following a domestic altercation with her husband.

A 34-year-old mother and her infant baby were found safe overnight Tuesday following a domestic dispute.

Sandy Springs police responded to a domestic call around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday at Citizen Perimeter apartments, located at 1125 Hammond Drive.

Sgt. Ron Momon, spokesperson with Sandy Springs police, said Shanetta Moncrief fled the location with her 8-month-old baby ”after a domestic situation with her husband.”

Officers were alerted that Moncrief allegedly made suicidal threats involving herself and the child. Police units searched the area, and Moncrief and the baby were found around 3:30 a.m.

Momon said Moncrief is currently not facing any criminal charges. Return to Patch for updates.
