Sandy Springs Police Collecting School Supplies For Children

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- The start of the 2017-18 school year for Fulton County is Monday, Aug. 7, and the Sandy Springs Police Department wants to make sure youngsters have everything they need for a great start.

The agency will be collecting school supplies for less fortunate elementary school students on Friday, Aug. 4 at Target in the Prado Shopping Center at 5570 Roswell Road. Officers will be on site collecting these items from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

If you are on the north side of town, you can also drop off donation at the Sandy Springs Police Department at 7840 Roswell Road Suite 300.

Items that residents are asked to bring include glue sticks, blunt scissors, crayons and markers, Dry Erase markers, construction paper, No. 2 pencils, beginner pencils (Ticonderoga), hand sanitizer, Kleenex, hand soap, disinfecting wipes, one-inch binders, highlighters, plastic pocket folders with prongs, spiral notebooks, hard-covered composition books, pink pearl erasers, index cards, wide-rule lined paper, construction paper, pencil pouches, Post-It notes, rulers, sandwich or gallon-sized Ziploc bags and ear buds.
