Sandy Springs Police Goes Pink For Breast Cancer Awareness

The Sandy Springs Police Department is doing its part to raise awareness of breast cancer.

The agency has temporarily replaced the blue line on four of its marked patrol vehicles with pink lines. The blue line is known in the law enforcement community for its commemorations of fallen officers.

However, the agency will commemorate those impacted by the disease throughout October -- designated as Breast Cancer Awareness month -- with this simple act of solidarity.

“Breast cancer has touched many within the community as well as within our police family,” said Police Chief Ken DeSimone. “The addition of the pink stripe is the department’s way of letting those affected families know that they have our support.”
