Sandy Springs Police Seek New Clues in Newborn's Death

In 2007, a newborn was found dead inside a gym bag on Applegate Lane near the intersection of Long Beach Circle and Roberts Drive.

Detectives with the Sandy Springs Police Department have reopened a cold case involving the death of a newborn.

Police on March 11, 2007, discovered the deceased newborn on Applegate Lane near the intersection of Long Beach Circle and Roberts Drive.

The newborn, identified as a male, was “left abandoned” inside a blue gym bag, said Sandy Springs police spokesperson Sgt. Ron Momon.

Momon added the case has remained cold since the baby’s body was discovered.

Anyone with information in this case is asked to call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404- 577-8477 (TIPS). Anyone providing information leading to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for this crime is eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.
