George Birnbaum has signed on to serve as the foreign policy advisor to Dr. Ben Carson’s presidential campaign, 11 Alive reports.
Birnbaum is the founder and CEO of GEB International, a political consulting organization that specializes in international politics. According to his website, Birnbaum helped run congressional campaigns in North Carolina, Florida and Virginia throughout the 1990’s.

The international scene came calling in 1998 when Birnbaum accepted a consulting role for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s campaign. He also eventually served as the prime minister’s chief of staff.
Birnbaum has also managed campaigns in Europe and the Middle East, his website states.
