Sandy Springs Rotary Club Member Sworn in As Fulton Superior Court Judge
The Honorable Jane C. Barwick was sworn in this week as the newest judge for the Fulton County Superior Court.

The Honorable Jane C. Barwick, a Rotary Club of Sandy Springs member, this week was sworn in as the newest judge for the Fulton County Superior Court.
The ceremony was held at the Georgia Railroad Freight Deport in Atlanta, and Rotary Club of Sandy Springs members were there to support her.
Barwick previously practiced for two of Atlanta’s most respected law firms — Hurt, Richardson, Garner, Todd & Cadenhead and Swift, Currie, McGhee and Hiers for over 14 years. In 1995, she started her own firm concentrating in family law.

For the next six years, Barwick handled high asset, complicated property division cases for clients sent entirely by referrals. The judge also handled numerous custody cases, “always mindful of the balance between her clients’ desires and the best interests of the children,” according to her website.
In April 2012, she was sworn in as a Fulton County Family Division judicial officer and magistrate judge. During her tenure, she heard and decided hundreds of cases dealing with family law, family violence restraining orders and stalking protective orders.

Barwick received her undergraduate degree from the prestigious Wesleyan University and moved on to receive her law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law.
Largely because of a strong calling and because of her desire to work with families in a different setting, Barwick closed her profitable practice and began attending Columbia Theological Seminary where she eventually earned her masters in divinity degree.
