Sandy Springs Rotary Club Needs Volunteers For North Fulton Serves

The Rotary Club of Sandy Springs on Saturday will join the Rotary Club of Alpharetta in the first-ever community service initiative.

The first ever North Fulton Serves community service day designed to ‘Light Up North Fulton’ on Saturday.

Between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Oct. 18, volunteers will participate in four service projects throughout the Sandy Springs area, and more volunteers in this family friendly event are needed to participate.

The program organizers — Rotary Club of Alpharetta — secured two small projects in Sandy Springs and the Rotary Club of Sandy Springs has added two additional sites.

The club is calling on the public to suit up and join their efforts.

Having already signed up 27 volunteers, the club would like to get an additional 28 signed up.

The two sites for Saturday’s community service project are:

Sandy Springs Library, 395 Mount Vernon Highway NE (8 a.m. to 3 p.m.)

  • Bring yard work tools and gloves

Housing Authority of Fulton County (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.)

  • Belle Isle Apartments (151 Belle Isle Road, Atlanta, GA 30328): playground refurbishment.
  • Allen Road Midrise (144 Allen Road NE Atlanta, GA 30328): painting.
  • Participants are advised to bring gloves. Additionally, the Housing Authority has invited all volunteers to join them for lunch.
