The city of Sandy Springs wants your nominations for its 2016 Humanitarian Award.

The award, which honors the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., recognizes an individual who embodies King’s history of character and service. Nominees must live or work within the city of Sandy Springs to be eligible for nomination.
Dr. King once said that ‘greatness is determined by service’,” Mayor Rusty Paul said. “Our Humanitarian Award recognizes those who have embraced that commitment to community service, giving selflessly of their time and energies.”

The nomination form can be found online at http://spr.gs/3. Nominations are due by noon on Friday, Dec. 4. A volunteer committee will review all nominations, selecting the award recipient.
The award will be presented during the City’s annual MLK Day Festivities, which fall on Jan. 18, 2015.
