Sandy Springs Virtual Transportation Master Plan Set For Thursday

Preliminary goals of the transportation master plan include promoting an interconnected system while maintaining the existing system.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — The City of Sandy Springs is embarking on a citywide transportation update program and is hosting two virtual kickoff meetings on Thursday to gain feedback from the public.

The current transportation master plan was adopted was in 2008, with many changes taking place in and around the city since that time. The plan will ultimately identify and recommend transportation projects and policies that will improve the mobility and overall safety for all users. Preliminary goals of the transportation master plan include promoting an interconnected and efficient system while maintaining the existing transportation system.

The first of the two virtual meetings will be from noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday. A second meeting will be held that same day from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. The meetings will include a short presentation, vision and goals overview, and a feedback session for residents to provide input. Both meetings will contain the same information, and participants will need to preregister. The meeting materials and a survey will be posted on the city’s website after the sessions. The survey will be open for public input until July 17.
