Sandy Springs: What's Open, Closed Amid Coronavirus Concerns
From businesses to governments, closures are being announced around Sandy Springs often. Keep up to date with what is still open.
SANDY SPRINGS, GA — With cases of the new coronavirus increasing daily in Georgia, cities around the state have closed businesses, government offices and cancelled events. See what is closed below, and let us know in the comments if we missed any closings.

SANDY SPRINGS
- The March 17 meeting of the City Council will be held via live stream. Residents and the media will be able to access the live-stream at spr.gs/stream shortly before the meeting begins. Details regarding this meeting can be found at spr.gs/0317.
- All City of Sandy Springs facilities are closed to the public until further notice. While the buildings are closed, city staff will continue operations remotely to provide continued service to the community.

- Smart911, a part of Sandy Springs Alerts, provides 9-1-1 call takers and first responders critical information you want them to know in any kind of emergency. It is part of a national service, meaning your profile travels with you and is visible to any participating 9-1-1 Center. Smart911 now includes options to provide first responders with information should you have flu-like symptoms, have self-quarantined, or were directed to isolate due to illness. If you have not yet signed up, sign up today. If you have an account, you can update your information at any time.
- To submit a building permit, view the status of a permit, schedule an inspection, or view the status of a code ordinance violation visit the Build Sandy Springs website.
- The City’s Thursday Developer Meetings will continue via online channels. Directions will be provided at the time the meeting is scheduled and posted online prior to the meeting.
- You can renew your business license or pay your business occupational tax online using the Sandy Springs payment website.
- You can pay a court fine or fee using the Sandy Springs payment website.
- To submit an invoice for payment for all City departments, including the Arts Center and Visit Sandy Springs, email accountspayable@sandyspringsga.gov. New vendors will need to complete the required forms located on the Doing Business with the City webpage.
- To report a service need, such as potholes, code violations, traffic issues, etc., you have several options:

- Sandy Springs Works app (available in app stores)
- For patrons of the Performing Arts Center, you can contact the Box Office at 770.206.2022 or email boxoffice@citysprings.com for assistance with ticket refunds or exchanges.
- Individuals who wish to talk with Recreation and Parks regarding canceled/suspended rentals and programming registrations can call 206.295.8038 or email us at recreation@sandyspringsga.gov.
- Until further notice, the Sandy Springs Fire Department has closed its stations to the general public. If you require assistance, please contact 911 for life-threatening emergencies. Contact your primary care physician or a local urgent care clinic for routine or non-life threatening emergencies. Sandy Springs Fire will continue to respond to all emergencies.
- Sandy Springs Police will also continue daily operations to protect the community; however, its headquarter offices will be closed to the general public, and routine business criminal histories, background checks, and other permit-related applications are currently suspended. If you need to file a non-emergency police report, call 404-843-6670. If you have an emergency, please dial 911.
- Municipal Court is closed until further notice. All cases will be rescheduled and a notice mailed once the court reopens.
- Community Assistance Center is providing essential needs services during the COVID-19 outbreak. Services have been modified. The food pantry is open for food distribution and food donations the week of March 30 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Prepacked food bags are being distributed at the door. Emergency Financial Assistance requests are conducted by phone and online. Adult Education classes are now conducted online. All other services are suspended until further notice.
FULTON COUNTY
- Early voting has been suspended. The Georgia Presidential Preference Primary and Special Election is now scheduled for May 19. For details on voting, visit the Secretary of State website.
- All Fulton County libraries are closed until further notice.
- The library is asking that patrons not return books during this closure. Library staff will adjust due dates and waive fines.
- Digital resources such as Hoopla, Libby, Overdrive, Freegal, and more are always available online.
- All Fulton County senior centers will be closed to the public starting Monday, March 16. Meal delivery is being arranged for existing senior center clients.
- All Fulton County Arts Centers & Wolf Creek Amphitheater will be closed to the public starting Saturday, March 14, 2020 until further notice. All Wolf Creek Amphitheater programming is suspended until further notice.
- Training centers for Developmental Disabilities will be closed and Group therapy will be suspended. Clients may contact the facility where they receive services for further information.
- Greenbriar Mall and North Fulton Service Center offices will be closed. All other offices will be open with limited staff.
- The Atlanta Judicial Circuit has issued an order declaring a judicial emergency in Fulton County. Effective Monday, March 16, no jurors or grand jurors should report, and no jury trials will be held for 30 days.
