Sandy Springs Woman Rescued From Vehicle Found Submerged in Pond

Shanell Latrice Anderson, 31, is in the hospital after her vehicle was found in a Cherokee County pond early Monday morning.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating an accident that landed a Sandy Springs woman in the hospital after her vehicle was found submerged in a Cherokee County pond.

Shanell Latrice Anderson, 31, was driving eastbound on The Fairway towards Batesville Road near the Fulton County Line around 4 a.m. Monday when she “lost control, left the roadway and entered a pond,” Georgia State Patrol spokesperson Franka Young said.

Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services crews arrived on the scene first and “two firemen entered the lake immediately and removed the driver from the completely submerged vehicle,” Cherokee Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Lt. Jay Baker said.

Baker said the woman was unresponsive when she was moved from the vehicle.

She was transported to North Fulton Hospital in Roswell where she remains in critical condition.
