City Repairs Sinkhole; Powers Ferry Road Reopens In Sandy Springs (UPDATED)

The road was closed for most of Friday between Dupree Drive and Raider Drive.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- Powers Ferry Road is back open after the city of Sandy Springs had to close a segment of the street Friday morning due to a sinkhole.

The road was closed to motorists at 5770 Powers Ferry Road, which is located between Dupree Drive and Raider Drive, the city said on its Facebook page.

The city noted Friday evening that "initial repairs" have been made and the area has been plated, allowing the city to reopen the road to vehicular traffic.
