Slotin Gains Endorsements From Chamblee, Dunwoody Leaders
Ron Slotin, a Sandy Springs resident, is running in the April 18 special election to fill Georgia's 6th Congressional District seat.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- A Sandy Springs Democrat running in the crowded race to become the next representative of Georgia's 6th Congressional District is getting the support of two heavyweights in DeKalb County.
Dunwoody City Council member Lynn Deutsch and Chamblee City Council member Leslie Robson have formally endorsed Slotin's bid for the Congressional seat.
"This is a turning point for our campaign, while many in the media have focused on one Democratic candidate (sic)," Slotin recently said. "We are aggressively building a transformative team that will win with a broad coalition of voters."

Deutsch said she's proud to stand shoulder to shouldder with Slotin, as he understand the needs of "our communities."
"He has an established record of working collaboratively in the State Senate to get results, including helping to pass the Hope Scholarship," Deutsch said. "I also think he is the Democratic candidate best suited to make things happen in Washington.”

Slotin served two terms in the Georgia State Senate from 1992 to 1996.
Robson, who added she was "tired of the chaos" in Washington, said she has seen Slotin work in the area and knows he cares about the families that make up the district.
"We need thoughtful, experienced leadership coming from the Sixth District that will put our priorities ahead of personal political ambition," she added.
A poll released last week shows Slotin in sixth place in the race to succeed Tom Price to serve the district, which covers north Fulton and parts of Cobb and DeKalb counties.
However, the Slotin emphasized in a statement that his campaign is "working in the trenches, building our campaign from the ground up with people who actually live and serve in the Sixth District."
"Lynn Deutsch and Leslie Robson are the ones taking calls from their constituents, meeting with residents to solve problems and working daily to make Dunwoody and Chamblee a better place," he added. "Lynn Deutsch and Leslie Robson are phenomenal women and I’m proud to have their support."
The deadline to register to vote in the race is March 20, and advance voting begins March 27. Polls will open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 18 and a runoff, if needed, will be held on June 20.
