Smash And Grab Burglary Reported in Sandy Springs

A white Dodge Challenger was driven into GameStop on Roswell Road early Christmas Eve morning.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- Sandy Springs police are investigating a Christmas Eve burglary that destroyed the store front of a local video game business.

Officers were dispatched around 5:17 a.m. Saturday to a burglary call at Game Stop, which is located at 5600 Roswell Road.

The officer arrived on the scene and met with a man who works for the property manager. That individual told police a white Dodge Challenger was "driven into the store front," and there didn't appear to be anyone in the store or around the car, an incident report released by the Sandy Spring Police Department states.

The Dodge Challenger, which was still running, was sitting on the sidewalk and had been backed into the front windows of the store.

A check of the license plate revealed the car had been stolen out of Atlanta, the incident report states. No suspects were located on the scene.

"There was extensive damage inside the store and evidence that the suspects went through drawers and cases," the incident report states.

The store manager told police it "would take a while" to determine exactly what was taken from the store.
