Take Me To The River originally began as a documentary film that followed multiple generations of Mississippi Delta and Memphis-based artists through the "creative process of recording a historic new album," the website notes. It's now a national initiative that includes a national tour showcasing the global impact of music from that region. Like the Memphis angle, the New Orleans tour will focus on iconic musicians from the Crescent City and explore the impact its sound has had on the industry.
