Spalding Drive, Mt. Vernon Road Improvements Kick Off Monday

Beginning Monday, April 13, the intersection of Spalding Drive and Mt. Vernon Road in Sandy Springs will close to through traffic as construction begins on roadway improvements.

Detours will be in place to assist motorists traveling through the area, the city said on Friday.

Drivers are asked to use caution and maintain the posted speed limits along the detour routes. There will be additional signage in the area to help direct motorists.

The project will realign the intersection and add traffic signals to enhance traffic operations. Construction is expected to be complete by late summer 2015.
