Sponsors Step Up For Volunteer For A Better Sandy Springs

Leadership Sandy Springs' community-wide day of service will be held on Saturday, April 16.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- Several sponsors have all signed on to support the annual Volunteer for a Better Sandy Springs initiative.

This year's sponsors include Choate Construction, BB&T, Coca Cola, Couchman Noble Foundation, Jabian Consutling Northside Hospital, Optech Family Of Company, Resource Planning Group, Sandy Springs Society, Yellobee Studio, Delta Credit Union, Holy Spirit Preparatory School, O'Daniel McDonald LLC, The Joint/Massage Envy Spa and W Design Landscape, Inc.

The event, sponsored by Leadership Sandy Springs, will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 16, and is expected to draw dozens of residents and stakeholders eager to enhance the city through hundreds of volunteer service hours.

The program of giving back has grown over the years as more sponsors and volunteers have stepped up to the plate to provide funding, materials and labor to make improvements to 21 local nonprofit organizations, government establishments and public schools.

Kickoff for the event, which will take place rain or shine, begins at North Springs Charter High School at 7447 Roswell Road with breakfast provided to registered participants and inspirational comments by Mayor Rusty Paul.

The first 500 participants will receive a free VBSS Day T-shirt. Following the kickoff, volunteers will disperse to one of the work sites.

Registration is already underway, and volunteers can sign up via the online form on the LSS website. Membership in LSS is not a requirement for participation. Work tasks will include landscaping, painting, carpentry, organization and general clean-up projects.

Work sites for this year include: Abernathy Arts Center, Big Trees Forest Preserve, Community Assistance Center, Crooked Creek Park, Dorothy Benson Senior Multipurpose Complex, Hammond Park, Heritage Sandy Springs, Keep Sandy Springs Beautiful, Sandy Springs Public Library, Sandy Springs Tennis Center, Watershed Alliance of Sandy Springs, North Springs Charter High School School, Ridgeview Charter School School, Sandy Springs Charter Middle School, Dunwoody Springs Elementary School, High Point Elementary School, Ison Springs Elementary School, Lake Forest Elementary School, Spalding Drive Charter Elementary School, Spalding Park and Woodland Charter Elementary School.
