Springmont counts on our parent volunteers!

Springmont School counts on parents to serve in many important volunteer roles and our community is greatly enriched by the sharing of parental time and talents. Our parent organization, IMPACT (Involved Montessori Parents in ACTion) spearheads and assists with several annual events, including a fun run, an auction, field day, staff appreciation and more. One of Springmont’s long-standing traditions is the announcement of our annual Volunteer of the Year award at Opening Night, our official kick-off to the start of the new school year. This year the extraordinary efforts of many parents made narrowing the candidates difficult, and the selection of just one recipient impossible! Springmont is thrilled to honor Shama Shah (pictured right) and Raluca Toma de Garcia (pictured left) as our 2018-19 Volunteers of the Year. Last year, Shama served as Parent Chair of Primary Field Day and the Halloween Hike and Co-Chaired the Spring Auction. She also served as a Room Parent and was an all-star recruiter for our Georgia School Choice Scholarship Fund which provides financial aid for families unable to afford the full cost of tuition. Raluca was Chair of Feed the Faculty, Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day and Montessori Mile and Co-Chaired the Spring Auction. She also served as a Room Parent and Springmont Annual Fund cabinet member.
