“The City of Sandy Springs and Springmont have partnered for World Water Monitoring Day for six years to promote the importance of clean water,” said Sandy Springs Mayor Rusty Paul. “By monitoring the water quality in our streams and rivers, we gather valuable data that shows the impact that conservation can have on our resources.”

The students joined thousands of volunteers across the globe to sample water quality and report their findings. Elementary and middle school students performed tests in the creek for dissolved oxygen, pH, turbidity (clarity) and temperature.

This ongoing project shows our students’ engagement in and their collaboration with the city of Sandy Springs and is yet another aspect of the students’ appreciation for our environment.”
