Springmont Students Test Sandy Springs Water Quality
The school partnered with the city of Sandy Springs and recently took part in World Water Monitoring Day activities.

The city of Sandy Springs and Springmont recently participated in World Water Monitoring Day activities at Heritage Sandy Springs.
For the fifth consecutive year, Springmont students joined thousands of volunteers across the globe to sample water quality and report their findings. The monitoring activities were engaging and students sampled water in the creek as well as in the spring.
“The city of Sandy Springs continues to partner with Springmont for World Water Monitoring Day to promote the importance of monitoring water quality in our streams and rivers,” said Sandy Springs Mayor Rusty Paul. “This partnership shows the value of gathering solid data so we can have an impact on conservation in the future.”

“Springmont has long been involved in both local and also global environmental issues,” said Jerri King, Springmont head of school. “Students frequently initiate projects to improve both our community and the world at large. The water monitoring activities conducted recently with the collaboration of the city of Sandy Springs is yet another aspect of the students’ awareness of and appreciation for our environment.”
