Morgan Falls Overlook Park To Host Standup Paddleboard Classes

Try out the fastest growing watersport in the country with a certified High Country Outfitter's guide.

Paddle boarding, stand up paddle, or for short SUP is the fastest growing water sport in the country. SUP resembles surfing with a broad board and paddle, which the boarder uses to propel and maneuver the craft on flat water or on waves. The motion works the body’s core without exhausting the legs or arms. SUP is great exercise and a great opportunity to get out in the environment!

SUP Demo Classes are open to ages 12 & up. Students will learn how to carry a paddleboard correctly, enter and exit the water safely on a board and differentiate between styles of boards.

SUP Yoga Classes are open to all ages and all levels of students. Students will be guided through a brief paddle instruction and led out to a cove where boards are anchored for a 60-90 minute Vinyasa style flow. Options are given throughout the class to accommodate varying yoga practices. Students move with their breath and often times will incorporate the paddle into the class. It is recommended that students have basic knowledge of yoga and an open mind to swim. Stand up Paddleboard Yoga is led by WPA certified paddle and yoga instructor Caroline Peters.
