Steel Canyon Offers Clinics For Newbies, Avid Golfers

Sandy Springs-based Steel Canyon Golf Club is encouraging locals to give golf a try through one of its introductory clinics offered in the coming months.

Get Golf Ready is a PGA of America-supported program designed to take the intimidation out of learning the game or brushing up on your golf skills.

Steel Canyon Golf Club’s program is held in four, one-hour group lessons that cover the fundamentals of putting, chipping, pitching and full-swing play. The total cost is an affordable $120, and no prior playing experience or equipment is required.

“Get Golf Ready is a comfortable, easy-going way to learn the game alongside friends and family,” said Summer Sirmons, LPGA professional and general manager of Steel Canyon Golf Club. “We’re thrilled to offer this program at Steel Canyon and we look forward to getting more people out on the course and enjoying the game of golf.”

WHAT: Get Golf Ready Clinics for seniors, women and co-eds; cost: $120

WHEN:

• Get Golf Ready for seniors: Tuesdays from 9 to 10 a.m. March 17, 24, 31 and April 7.
• Get Golf Ready for women: Saturdays from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. April 4, 11, 18 and 25; Other start dates include May 9, June 13, July 18, Aug. 22, Sept. 26 and Oct. 31.
• Get Golf Ready for men and women: Saturdays from 11 a.m. to noon May 9, 16, 23 and 30; Other start dates include June 13, July 18, Aug. 22, Sept. 26 and Oct. 31.
• Get Golf Ready II: Women on Course (this is for graduates of Get Golf Ready for Women and covers bunker play, advanced short game, on-course strategy and mental approach): Saturdays from 8 to 9 a.m. May 9, 16, 23 and 30; Other start dates include June 13, July 18, Aug. 22, Sept. 26 and Oct. 31.
