Survey: 65% of Americans who travel abroad will use mobile data to check in with loved ones

Verizon recently released a new survey on how travelers use mobile devices during trips.

A new Verizon survey recently released reveals that – of the one in three Americans planning to travel outside of the U.S. in the next year – 80 PERCENT will use a mobile device at some point during their trip.

So what will they use it for?

· 65 percent said to check in with loved ones back home

· 46 percent said for maps and directions

· 38 percent said to upload pictures to social media

· 26 percent said to review restaurants or attractions
