Sandy Springs police say Pina and the victim, 24-year-old Nickolas McCoy, were ”involved in a physical altercation” inside the bar.
During the encounter, McCoy and Pina fell to the ground, and “Pina pulled out a small caliber pistol and shot McCoy twice in the chest,” the agency added.
McCoy was transported to North Fulton Hospital where he is undergoing surgery.
Pina initially fled the scene, but returned a short time later to Sandy Springs police headquarters “to tell his side of the story,” police said.
