Suspect Takes $4,000 During Armed Robbery: Cops
The Sandy Springs Police Department continues to investigate the Dec. 9 armed robbery at a Shell gas station.
SANDY SPRINGS, GA — The Sandy Springs Police Department is asking the public to help them identify the man accused of robbing a convenience store at gunpoint in early December. Officers were dispatched around 11 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9 to a call of a robbery at the Shell station at 5700 Roswell Road.
The victim told police that a man armed with a silver, semi-automatic handgun entered the store from the side door, pointed the firearm at his face and "demanded money from the cash register."
"The victim struggled with the suspect over the gun in a hand-to-hand tussle," said police spokesperson Sgt. Sam Worsham.

The employee backed away from the suspect and showed him how to open the cash register. According to police, the suspect reached across the counter, opened the register and took about $4,000 in cash from the store. He was captured on surveillance cameras leaving from the same door he used to enter the store.
The suspect is described as a black male about 6'5'' tall with a medium build, and was wearing a dark hooded jacket, blue jeans, black gloves and a red mask.
