Fortunately, no one was injured when a vehicle crashed into the Sandy Springs Police Department’s headquarters.

The accident occurred Friday when the SUV suddenly drove through the office and into the area where Chief Ken DeSimone’s executive assistant sits, Capt. Steve Rose said in his Weekly Wrap Up.

Incorporating the dry sense of humor he’s famous for, Rose used his wit to describe what’s turned out to be a surprising start to the weekend for the agency.

“SSPD announced today that the office now has a drive-thru lane located on the south end of the building in what used to be the executive assistant’s office,” Rose said. “The initial test was not so successful.”

Sandy Springs Police spokesperson Sgt. Forrest Bohannon said the cause of the accident is being investigated.
