Milton, GA -- Detectives with the Milton Police Department have charged a teacher’s assistant at a preschool with child molestation.

Bright Horizons at Deerfield employee Bernard Benta, who resides in Sandy Springs, was arrested Friday and charged with child molestation and sexual assault by a school administrator, the agency said in its press release.

The 46-year-old man is accused of inappropriately touching a juvenile male in his care at the facility, which is located in the 3100 block of Webb Road.

Lt. Charles Barstow, spokesperson with Milton police, said the child’s mother and stepfather came to the agency’s headquarters Feb. 11 to file a report of the allegations.

Benta was arrested at his residence and booked into the Fulton County Jail, Milton police said.
