Billed as a play festival, Crossroads is a production of six, 10-minute plays showcasing the short works of six professional playwrights, “ten minute plays (that) are little nuggets of dramatic gold.”

Three of the plays have student directors and three are directed by North Springs’ drama teacher and professional actor Tyler Owens.

“We are excited about the plays we chose,” Owens said. “We named the show Crossroads, because as a whole, each play is about just that, humans at major decision points in their lives.”

Between each play, North Springs’ actors and musicians perform musical transitions that continue the show’s theme. One of the songs has been co-written by two North Springs’ students, another is an original adaptation. The music ranges from Frank Sinatra’s iconic “That’s Life” to Aerosmith’s “Living on the Edge” and “Feeling Good” by Nina Simone.

About 30 students are involved as cast and crew members. Crossroads will be presented in the main stage theater at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 1-3 and Oct. 8-10.

Tickets are $5 for students, $15 for adults and $20 VIP are available at the box office one hour before the show and online at www.northspringstickets.com.
