Thomas Eye Group to Support Atlanta Community Food Bank this Holiday Season with LASIK Pledge
Thomas Eye Group LASIK to donate $50 to the Atlanta Community Food Bank for every LASIK procedure completed by the end of the year

ATLANTA - Thomas Eye Group, a leading metro Atlanta eye care provider that offers comprehensive services including LASIK and medical, surgical and cosmetic eye care, announced today that it will donate $50 to the Atlanta Community Food Bank for every LASIK procedure completed by its LASIK team between October 1, 2015 and January 1, 2016. The Food Bank can provide four meals to those in need for every dollar that is donated, so each LASIK donation will support 200 meals for families and individuals who depend on the Food Bank and its partner agencies to supplement their food supply, including 164,000 children and 64,000 seniors.
“We are dedicated to giving back by supporting organizations and events that positively impact public health and build communities, so this holiday promotion is a natural fit for our philanthropic mission,” said Rod Roeser, CEO for Thomas Eye Group.
LASIK surgery is an extremely popular option for eliminating the need for contacts and eyeglasses and has become one of the fastest growing of all medical procedures in the U.S. More than 15 million Americans have undergone this safe and effective vision correction technique since it was granted FDA approval in the late 1990s. Thomas Eye Group was one of the first to perform LASIK under FDA protocol, and its experienced physicians have performed more than 25,000 vision correction procedures. In addition, Thomas Eye Group was recently voted “Best LASIK Doctor” in Atlanta by JEZEBEL Magazine and offers the most precise, advanced technology for Bladeless LASIK in the metro area.
“We greatly appreciate Thomas Eye Group for helping us provide meals to those who are struggling to put food on their tables,” said Kyle Waide, president and CEO of the Atlanta Community Food Bank. “More than 700,000 individuals face hunger each year across metro Atlanta and north Georgia, and we couldn’t meet the needs of all of those people without support from the community and businesses like Thomas Eye Group.”
Thomas Eye Group has served the metro Atlanta area for more than 40 years and has continued its commitment to community support through events such as the Atlanta VisionWalk benefitting the Foundation Fighting Blindness; North Fulton Hospital’s Power of Pink; the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation (Night of Spectacles); Jog for a Cause, and Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes, among others. The Thomas Eye Group LASIK Center is located at 5995 Barfield Road in Sandy Springs. To learn more about LASIK, contact Thomas Eye Group at 855-ATL-LASIK or visit www.thomaseye.com.
