Thomas J. High, M.D. Opens New Private Practice in Sandy Springs

Thomas J. High, M.D., has opened a new solo practice just one floor below his former office in the Northside Hospital Doctors Centre.

Thomas J. High, M.D., a long-time family medicine practitioner on Atlanta’s north side, has returned to solo practice with the opening of Thomas J. High, M.D. Family Medicine (www.thomashighmd.com). Dr. High’s new practice is located in the Northside Hospital Doctors Centre, 960 Johnson Ferry Road, which is the same building where he has seen patients since 1987. The practice will serve men, women and children of all ages, offering annual health assessments and lab work, routine baby visits and inoculations, minor in-office surgeries, vaccinations, pap smears, EKGs, vision and hearing tests and more. Thomas J. High, M.D. Family Medicine is a patient-centered practice, where patients pay an annual subscription fee, and in return enjoy hour-long appointments, after-hours access to Dr. High, same-day appointments and reduced wait times.

“Over the years, I have become increasingly frustrated with the restrictions and regulations the insurance industry has imposed upon medical practitioners, not to mention the volume of paperwork required to comply with the ever-changing mandates,” said Dr. High. “I went into medicine to make a difference in the lives of my patients, which is challenging when your time together is limited to 20 minutes once a year. In my new practice, I am purposely limiting the number of patients, so I can build the kind of patient-doctor relationships that are critical to optimizing good health. My patients will use their insurance for lab work, hospitalization, prescription medications and specialists, but my time will not be covered by insurance. This will free me to focus on personalized healthcare and wellness strategies, rather than on administrative duties.”

Dr. High has lived in Atlanta for over 30 years, and founded a thriving private medical practice in north Atlanta in 1987. Board certified in Family Medicine, Dr. High offers adults and children of all ages the highest level of service in general medicine, using the latest technological advancements, and has enjoyed the privilege of caring for multi-generations within the same families.
