Toni Jo Howard New Finance Director, Sandy Springs

The City of Sandy Springs announced today the addition of Antonette (Toni Jo) Howard, CPA, CGFM, as Finance Director. Howard was most recently Assistant City Manager|Finance Director for the City of Tucker. She assumes her new role November 16, 2020.

Howard has extensive experience working in finance with local governments. Prior to her work with the City of Tucker, Howard served as Reporting Manager for the City of Seattle, WA, as Finance Director for the City of Johns Creek, Ga. and a similar role for the City of Smyrna, Ga. She also served as Accounting Manager for First Data, managing accounting functions for portfolio alliances.

As Finance Director, Howard will be responsible for the strategic leadership and management of the City’s Finance Department and will serve as a key member of the City’s management team. She will provide technical leadership in budgeting, debt administration, and purchasing administration.

Howard earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Master of Professional Accounting from the University of West Georgia. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the states of Virginia, Washington, and Georgia. Howard is a Certified Government Finance Manager and a Chartered Global Management Accountant. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Association of Government Accountants (AGA), and the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA).
