Update: Sandy Springs Police Arrest Two in Hammond Park Shooting
Police say 24-year old Chavis Baker retrieved a weapon from his car following a basketball game, and shot one time at Williams as he fled. The bullet missed Williams.

Sandy Springs Police have arrested two men in connection with the Monday shooting at Hammond Park in Sandy Springs. Twenty four-year-old Chavis Baker and 26-year old Terence Doe are in custody after being arrested in the early morning hours at the United Inn on Memorial Drive in DeKalb County. Detectives also recovered the weapon used in the shooting. Baker is charged with shooting at 18-year old Khalif Quashon Williams following an argument over a basketball game.

According to witnesses, at about 3 p.m., an argument ensued between Baker and Williams.

Baker and the Terence Doe then left the park in Doe’s Ford Explorer. Witnesses obtained a tag number on the vehicle. It showed to be registered to Terence Doe’s mother, who lives in Beaufort, SC.
She was contacted late in the evening and provided the address on Memorial Drive where Doe has been living. Crime suppression team members and detectives went to the United Inn on Memorial Drive and located the Ford Explorer. Both suspects were located in the hotel room and arrested without incident in the early morning hours of April 3. The weapon, found in the room and used in the shooting, a Taurus 9mm semi-auto, was listed as stolen from Beaufort, SC in May of last year.
Chavis Baker, of Pine Grove Road in Beaufort, S.C. is charged with Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony, and Theft by Receiving Stolen Property (Firearm.)
Terence Doe of Radford Lane in Riverdale, GA is charged with Party to a Crime (of Aggravated Assault.) Both are in the Fulton County Jail.
