Update: Victim Expected to Recover After Being Shot in Stomach and Chest

A report from Sandy Springs Police Capt. Steve Rose said the motive for a shooting last week at Azalea Park Apartments on Dunwoody Place, is still being investigated.

Just before 3 p.m., Wednesday, police found the victim shot and lying on the back deck of his apartment building.

His wife told officers that he had gone to check on their children and was approached by a young black male who shot him. He was wounded in the stomach and chest.

A witness said two young black males were seen running from the scene and laughing. The victim was treated and then transported to North Fulton Hospital where he will recover. The shots missed major organs, Rose said in his report. 

Evidence indicates the victim and suspects may know each other.
