Violent Armed Robbery Remains Under Investigation
One suspect ripped a necklace from a victim's neck and shoved her to the ground, a Sandy Springs police incident report states.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- Sandy Springs detectives continue to investigate the armed robbery of two adults early last week at an apartment complex.
Officers were dispatched around 9:20 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22 to Highland Springs apartments at 55 Northwood Drive, which is south of I-285 between Roswell Road and Lake Forrest Drive.
Police arrived on the scene, and met with a woman who had blood on the side of her neck and "was in distress," according to an incident report released by the Sandy Springs Police Department.

The woman's niece volunteered to speak to police, as she noted her aunt did not speak English.
The niece told police that the woman and a male companion returned to the apartment complex around 9:15 p.m. and when they exited the vehicle, they were approached by two male suspects.

The two men, who were standing near a bridge that connects two parking lots inside the complex, were armed with hand guns.
One of the suspects, the report states, told the female victim to "shut up and give me your money," and grabbed her purse from her arms.
"The same suspect grabbed her by her hair and pulled a necklace from her neck," the report states. "The suspect then threw her to the ground."
The report notes the woman's neck was scratched by the suspect when he grabbed the necklace from her body, causing her to bleed. She also told police she landed on the knee she recently visited the hospital for due to an injury.
The other suspect, who appeared to be younger, allegedly pointed a firearm at the male victim, who handed over his wallet and cell phone.
Both suspects left on foot towards Northwood Drive, the report states.
Along with the Vera Bradley purse and the gold necklace with a Virgin Mary pendant, about $2,000 in jewelry and $2,000 in cash was stolen from the female victim. Along with his wallet, the male victim had his black Apple iPhone stolen by the suspects.
Both suspects, described as black males, wore black pants and black long-sleeved jackets with hoods. They also were sporting masks or bandannas over their faces, with only their eyes and noses being visible.
The victims were not able to provide additional details about the hand guns other than they were black in color.
Sandy Springs police spokesperson Sgt. Sam Worsham said no arrests have been made in connection to the case.
