Volunteer For A Better Sandy Springs On April 21

The annual service day allows volunteers to showcase their civic pride by investing hundreds of service hours into the city.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — The annual community wide initiative arming volunteers with the tools to improve various sites around the city will be held on Saturday. Organized by Leadership Sandy Springs, Volunteer for a Better Sandy Springs Day will be held on April 21, and provides volunteers with a chance to showcase their civic pride by investing hundreds of service hours into the community.

The event, scheduled for 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., relies on volunteers to assist in improvement projects at more than a dozen job sites, which include local nonprofits, civic organizations, public schools, and parks.

VBSS was established 16 years ago by the Leadership Sandy Springs Class of 2002, and continues to grow
and engage more sponsors and volunteers to provide funding, materials, and labor to make improvements
valued at more than $650,000.

Following the kickoff, volunteers will disperse to one of the work sites. Volunteers can still register online at the VBSS page of the LSS website. All ages are welcome and LSS encourages the involvement of community groups, corporate teams, and school groups.

Again, this year, LSS is using Eventbrite so volunteers can check and see whom of their friends are attending. Membership in LSS is not a requirement for participation.
