Volunteer For A Better Sandy Springs Kicks Off April 21
The community-wide service day allows volunteers to showcase their civic pride by investing hundreds of service hours into Sandy Springs.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — Leadership Sandy Springs is preparing to host its annual initiative arming volunteers with the tools to beautify various sites around the city. Volunteer for a Better Sandy Springs Day will be held Saturday, April 21.
The community-wide service day allows volunteers to showcase their civic pride by investing hundreds of service hours into Sandy Springs. The event, scheduled for 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., relies on volunteers to assist in improvement projects at 20 job sites, which include local nonprofits, civic organizations, public schools, and parks.
VBSS was established 16 years ago by the Leadership Sandy Springs Class of 2002, and continues to grow
and engage more sponsors and volunteers to provide funding, materials, and labor to make improvements
valued at more than $650,000 (For more news like this, find your local Patch here. If you have an iPhone, click here to get the free Patch iPhone app; download the free Patch Android app here).

Volunteer for a Better Sandy Springs is an essential service program that benefits and supports the city and embodies the Leadership Sandy Springs vision of connecting community. Kickoff for the event begins at North Springs Charter High School at 7447 Roswell Road, with a free breakfast provided to registered participants. The first 400 volunteers will receive a colorful T-shirt to mark the occasion. Sandy Springs Mayor Rusty Paul will be on hand to inspire and personally thank volunteers.
Following the kickoff, volunteers will disperse to one of the work sites. Volunteers can register online at the
VBSS page of the LSS website. All ages are welcome and LSS encourages the involvement of
community groups, corporate teams, and school groups. Again, this year, LSS is using Eventbrite so
volunteers can check and see whom of their friends are attending. Membership in LSS is not a requirement for participation. Work tasks will include landscaping, painting, carpentry, organization and general clean-up
projects.
