Following the kickoff, volunteers will disperse to one of the work sites.

The annual community day of service is expected to draw dozens of residents and stakeholders eager to enhance the city through hundreds of volunteer service hours.

The program of giving back has grown over the years, as more sponsors and volunteers have stepped up to the plate to provide funding, materials and labor to make improvements to 21 local nonprofit organizations, government establishments and public schools.

Registration is underway, and volunteers can sign up via the online form on the LSS website. Membership in LSS is not a requirement for participation. Work tasks will include landscaping, painting, carpentry, organization and general clean-up projects.

This year's work sites can be found online. Volunteers are particularly needed to donate their time at Ison Springs and Woodland elementary schools, the Community Assistance Center, Ridgeview and Sandy Springs Charter middle schools, North Springs Charter High School, the Benson Senior Center Complex and the Sandy Springs Tennis Center.

This year's sponsors include Choate Construction, BB&T, Coca Cola, Couchman Noble Foundation, Jabian Consutling Northside Hospital, Optech Family Of Company, Resource Planning Group, Sandy Springs Society, Yellobee Studio, Delta Credit Union, Holy Spirit Preparatory School, O'Daniel McDonald LLC, The Joint/Massage Envy Spa and W Design Landscape, Inc.
