Volunteer For A Better Sandy Springs Set For April 22
Residents can still volunteer to lend a hand at four sites during the annual, community-wide beautification initiative.
SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- Organizers behind the Volunteer for a Better Sandy Springs campaign are still looking for a few more people to help in its annual initiative.
The annual community-wide service day, sponsored by Leadership Sandy Springs, will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 22.
Volunteers will collectively donate hundreds of service hours to improve various areas around the city.

Residents are needed to help clean up sites at Watershed Alliance of Sandy Springs and Lake Forest, High Point and Heards Ferry elementary schools.
Now in its 15th year, the initiative has grown over the years as more sponsors and volunteers have stepped up to provide funding, materials, and labor to make improvements to 21 local nonprofit organizations, public schools and parks.

Work tasks will include landscaping, painting, carpentry, organization and general cleanup projects. Valued at over $600,000 in upgrades to our community, VBSS is an essential day of service that continues to benefit the city and embodies Leadership Sandy Springs’ mission of connecting individuals to bring value to our diverse community.
Kickoff for the event, which will take place rain or shine, begins at 8 a.m. Saturday at North Springs Charter High School at 7447 Roswell Road, with breakfast and VBSS T-shirts provided to registered participants while supplies last.
Sandy Springs City Councilman Ken Dishman will be on hand to inspire and personally thank volunteers. Following the kickoff, volunteers will disperse to one of the work sites.
Registration has begun and volunteers can sign up via the online form on the VBSS page of the LSS website. Membership in LSS is not a requirement for participation.
