Walk To The Greenway Family Celebration Set For May 20

Sandy Springs Conservancy invites residents to celebrate the opening of the Abernathy Southside Trail Park.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — Celebrate the huge expansion of Abernathy Greenway Park with the Sandy Springs Conservancy. On Sunday, May 20 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., the Conservancy will host its Walk to the Greenway Family Celebration and Tour at Abernathy Southside Trail Park.

This celebration brings together supporters of the Sandy Springs Conservancy and neighborhood groups for ice cream, beverages, and family-friendly activities. Fun for all ages! Wear comfortable walking shoes. Overflow parking is available at the Sandy Springs Christian Church located at 200 Johnson Ferry Road.

Are you interested in learning more about the native flowers and the wildlife along the 10-acre greenspace? Meet under the Abernathy Oaks at Wright Road for a tour of the park led by the Conservancy.

The Abernathy Greenway South Trail Park includes a slate chip-walking trail, landscaping, park benches, bike racks, pet waste stations, and trash cans along the designated areas.
