That’s because the city’s Public Facilities Authority -- made up of the mayor and City Council -- on Tuesday approved a lease agreement with CH Realty IV/MK, L.L.C. to use warehouse space as an active shooter response training facility.

The Council at its May 19 meeting approved a contract with CH Realty to lease the facility at 4410 Bankers Circle Suite A, which sits off Winters Chapel Road east of Dunwoody.

The police department, which was previously using an establishment in Forsyth County for training purposes, plans to outfit the facility to serve its needs. This facility will give the agency the ability to set up various layouts to mimic schools, businesses and retail establishments.

The city will use asset forfeiture funds for the lease and upgrades. That fund currently has about $591,000.
