Weekend Road Work Scheduled Along Georgia 400 in Sandy Springs
One southbound lane along S.R. 400 between I-285 and the Glenridge Connector will be closed for fiber optic cable installation.

The Georgia Department of Transportation is reminding motorists that, weather permitting, crews will continue projects to “improve highway infrastructure throughout metropolitan Atlanta.”
According to the agency’s press release, road work will take place this weekend at the following locations:
- S.R. 400: one lane southbound between I-285 and the Glenridge Connector will be closed from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday for fiber optic cable installation;
- Bridge joint and header replacement will require closing two eastbound I-20 lanes from Six Flags Parkway for approximately one mile continuously from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 p.m. Saturday;
- Similar work westbound will necessitate one lane closing from I-285 to Six Flags Parkway from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday;
- Also, bridge joint repairs will require two westbound I-20 lanes between McDaniels and Langhorn streets be closed continuously from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday;
- Sign structure work on eastside I-285 will require an outer Loop double lane closure and an Inner loop single lane closure between Glenwood Road and Covington Highway, continuously from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 p.m. Saturday;
- Similar sign work on southwest side I-285 will necessitate a 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, closure of two outer Loop and two Inner loop lanes between Washington Road and the I-85 interchange;
- Bridge repairs in Newton County will require both entrance and exit ramp closures on westbound I-20 at State Route 12 from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday; and
- On U.S. 41/Cobb Parkway at the Chattahoochee River, two northbound lanes will be closed from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday, followed by two southbound lanes from noon to 6 p.m. for pavement repairs.
Projects there will require lane closures which, in turn, are likely to result in delays.
