Weekend Weather: Rain, Rain Won't Go Away

A wet weekend is in store for the Sandy Springs area.

Weekend storms are going to keep many Sandy Springs residents inside for the first weekend of 2015.

Rain beginning Friday is expected to continue through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

The forecast for Saturday calls for 70 percent chance of showers, and with thunderstorms possible in the afternoon.

Showers and the threat of a thunderstorm or two continue Saturday night and into Sunday morning. And a chance of showers lingers into the afternoon.

Winds could reach 15 mph, but temperatures are expected to remain in the 50s through the weekend, before dropping into the 30s Sunday night.

The wet weather will head out of town for the work week (of course), but the colder temperatures will hang around (of course).
