While it seems like we are all using the latest tech, it’s important to learn how to properly recycle our old tech, including maybe erasing data.

Amar Parikh of Verizon Wireless has a few tips to help you erase data from your device and ways for proper recycling:

• Be sure to locate an e-recycling center in your area on Verizon Wireless
• Trade in your device to send back to the manufacturer which they can recycle
• Back up any important data on your device to a cloud based service or external drive prior to transferring everything to a new device
• Erase data before trading in or recycling your device. Verizon Wireless has a great guide to show you
• Keep your old device as a backup in case anything happens to your new device
