Winter Heritage Classics Series Wraps Up Feb. 12

The final installment of Heritage Sandy Springs 2016-2017 event will feature two a cappella groups from Georgia Tech.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- Heritage Sandy Springs will close out its 2016-2017 season of Heritage Winter Classics on a pitch perfect note.

The series ends Sunday, Feb. 12 with two a cappella groups from Georgia Tech who are competing in the South Quarterfinals of the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella the evening before their performance in Sandy Springs.

Sympathetic Vibrations, aka SympVibes, is an all-male a cappella group founded at Georgia Tech in 1997.

They typically have 12-15 active members as well as some who are on co-op rotations or other various diversions. They perform at various events on Tech’s campus and across the state. They arrange all of their own music (mostly pop and classic rock) and rehearse three times weekly.

SympVibes will be performing a few of their competition songs at Heritage Winter Classics, including “Irresistible” (Fall Out Boy), “Until the End of Time” (Justin Timberlake) and “Suffer” (Charlie Puth).

Nothin’ but Treble, Georgia Tech’s premiere all-female a cappella group, was founded in 1998. They typically 10-12 active members ranging from freshmen to graduate students.

All of the music in Nothin’ but Treble’s growing repertoire is arranged by a current or former member of the group. Nothin’ but Treble took home an award for best arrangement for “Chandelier” at the 2015 Southeast Regional ICCA competition.

For their Heritage Winter Classics performance, Nothin’ but Treble will reprise their 2017 competition set which features “I Want You Back” (Jackson 5), “Classic” (MKTO), “Unsteady” (X Ambassadors), and “Survivor” (Destiny’s Child), among others.

The concert will be held in Heritage Hall on the lower level of the Heritage Sandy Springs administrative at 6110 Blue Stone Road.

Doors open at 4 p.m. with performances from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Cash bar available; no outside food or beverage permitted.

Admission is $5 for members of Heritage Sandy Springs and $10 for non-members. General admission tickets are not sold in advance and are available only at the door.

Free parking is available at the Heritage Sandy Springs lot on Blue Stone Road, as well as in designated lots on Sandy Springs Place and in the Sandy Springs United Methodist Church Activities Center on Sandy Springs Circle.
