Here are the top three stories today in Sandy Springs:
- The Fulton County District Attorney's office reported that a witness in the rapper Young Thug case is being threatened. The identity of the witness was supposedly leaked. The family of the witness is also being threatened. Additionally, the office is worried that the jury pool is being poisoned. (WSB Atlanta)
- A Fulton County judge has denied a request to halt the state's Heartbeat Law. The new law bans abortions once a fetal heartbeat is detected, basically banning abortions after six weeks of pregnancy. Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney dismissed the request due to the Court lacking jurisdiction. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
- Singer Mariah Carey claims that her Sandy Springs home was burglarized while she was traveling. The burglary was reported to the police on Jul. 27. The $5.65 million home was purchased in Nov. 2021 through a trust. It is currently unknown what exactly was taken from the home. (Vanity Fair)
