Woman Dead, Man Injured Following Shooting in Sandy Springs

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- One woman is dead and a man is in the hospital following a shooting early Friday morning in Sandy Springs.

Officers responded to the call of a person shot around 3 a.m. Nov. 25 in the 100 block of North River Drive. They arrived on the scene to find a man and woman in their 20's with gunshot wounds, the Sandy Springs Police Department said in a press release.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene while the male victim was transported to North Fulton Hospital for treatment.

The victims' names are being withheld pending notifications of their next of kin. No motive has been determined and there is no information on a suspect, police added.
