Woman Shot With Airsoft Pellet Gun While Leaving Bible Study
The woman was hit in the forehead while leaving a church on Northwood Drive in Sandy Springs.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- A woman suffered injuries to her face late last month when she was shot by a pellet gun while leaving a church in Sandy Springs. Officers with the Sandy Springs Police Department were dispatched to Holy Spirit Catholic Church at 120 Northwood Drive around 7:25 p.m. April 22.
Units arrived on the scene and met with the victim, who said she was leaving a Bible study session and walking in the parking lot with her friends when she "heard what appeared to be gunshots in the area," according to an incident report released by the agency.
The woman said she suddenly felt pressure on her forehead and saw blood coming down her face. Medical personnel were called to the scene to treat the victim.

"Several people stated kids in the area was (sic) running and ducking behind cars, as several shots rang out," the incident report states.
Several children also told officers that the shots were fired from a pellet gun, and they saw two teenage boys running down Kingsport Drive. One of those teens, the report notes the children added, was carrying a black and white Airsoft pellet gun.

That teen, the report indicates, was sporting an Adidas hat, green short and jeans. Sandy Springs units patrolling the area could not locate the pair.
Police note the shooting "was not intentional and the victim was not targeted." The victim was evaluated at the scene, but refused to be transported to the hospital.
