Woman Suffers Seizure While Kayaking on Chattahoochee River

A woman who was kayaking on the river near the Cobb-Fulton border was rescued Monday afternoon.

A woman is in critical condition after she was pulled from the Chattahoochee River following a medical emergency Monday afternoon.

According to WSB-TV, the woman was kayaking on the river when she suffered a seizure. Crews from Sandy Springs Fire and Rescue and Cobb County Fire Department rushed to the aid of the victim, who was pulled from the river where it passes underneath Johnson Ferry Road on the Cobb-Fulton county border.

First responders had to break into a water treatment power plant at the river to rescue the woman, the station said.

The woman was taken to North Fulton Hospital for treatment.
