Youth Leadership Sandy Springs Accepting Program Applications
Applications are open for the Youth Leadership Sandy Springs Class of 2021 and new Summer SnapShot Program.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — This year, Youth Leadership Sandy Springs is offering Sandy Springs teens two ways to participate in the nonprofit’s blend of community exploration and leadership training.
Applications for both the eight-month Class of 2021 program, which runs August - March 2021, and the new one-week Summer SnapShot program, which will run June 1-5, are now available online at https://leadershipsandysprings.org/youth-leadership/apply-ylss.
Through 10 program days, six of which occur during school (excused absences for participants), and four on weekends, students explore aspects of Sandy Springs, learn how to become engaged members of the community and build their leadership skills. The eight-month year-long program is open to students who live or go to school in Sandy Springs and are currently high school freshmen or sophomores.

The new Summer SnapShot program, will offer Sandy Springs high school students of all grades the opportunity to experience the highlights of Youth Leadership Sandy Springs without missing school.
“Each year we have two to three times more applicants than we can take," Executive Director, Linda Cahn said. "Summer SnapShot will offer more students the ability to participate in the highlights of Youth Leadership Sandy Springs in a condensed five- day format. This summer is a pilot which we plan to continue if the interest is there – which we believe it is.”

Applications and information about both programs can be found at www.leadershipsandysprings.org/ylss.
Youth Leadership Sandy Springs was launched by parent organization, Leadership Sandy Springs in 2011, as a service project of the Leadership Sandy Springs Class of 2010. It is based on Leadership Sandy Springs’ now 34 years of successfully developing and connecting community leaders and the belief that offering a youth program was important in building the next generation of leaders. In the past nine years, over 440 students from 14 area high schools have participated in Youth Leadership Sandy Springs and over 95 business, civic and government leaders and Leadership Sandy Springs alumni volunteer to work with Youth Leadership Sandy Springs students each year.
