3. How Savannah-area high schools ranked in U.S. News' latest list (savannahnow.com) — Families in Savannah can see how local high schools stack up statewide, with Savannah Arts Academy cracking Georgia's top 10 and ranking 361st nationally in U.S. News' latest list. Savannah Early College High School and several other Savannah-Chatham schools also made the rankings, offering a snapshot of graduation rates and college readiness across the Coastal Empire.
4. After Leadership Shakeup, Telfair Museums Names Caitlín Doherty as Next Director (artnews.com) — Savannah's Telfair Museums has hired Caitlín Doherty as its new executive director, with her tenure beginning in October as the institution marks major anniversaries. Her appointment follows a turbulent period that included staff layoffs and leadership turnover, and she's pledging to work closely with local staff, artists, and community leaders to shape the museums' future.
5. Georgia Southern University unveils state-of-the-art humanoid robot at Savannah campus (wtoc.com) — Georgia Southern's Savannah campus just welcomed a state-of-the-art humanoid robot that students may soon spot roaming labs and walkways. Housed in the engineering and computing college, the mobile robot will anchor hands-on research in robotics and AI, helping prepare Savannah-area students for high-tech jobs at ports, logistics hubs, and advanced manufacturers across Coastal Georgia.
